Chicken Nilaga

A Simple and Healthy Dish Soup
Ingredients:
1 lb chicken breast, cut into serving size
1 large potato, cut into cubes
1 large red bell pepper, julienne
1 medium cabbage, cut into 8
2 pcs garlic cloves
1 small onion, sliced thin
1/2 teaspoon whole pepper corn
1 tablespoon fish sauce (optional)
salt and ground pepper to taste
1 tablespoon cooking oil
4 cups water
Cooking Direction:
Heat a deep pot and add cooking oil. Saute garlic and onion till golden brown. Add slices of chicken, whole pepper corn, fish sauce and stir. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add water and bring to boil till chicken is almost cooked in medium heat. Add the potatoes (you could also add carrots if desired) and bell pepper. After 5 minutes add the cabbage salt and ground pepper. Cover pot and simmer for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and serve. You could also serve this dish with a side of fish sauce to dip the veggies.
Also best when eaten with steam rice.
