Hummus is one of my favorite Middle Eastern spread specially when served with salata on the side (see previous post for salata recipe)
3 cups garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drained
1/2 cup tahini (optional)
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt
5 cloves garlic, halved
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pinch paprika
Place garbanzo beans, tahini, lemon juice, salt and garlic in a blender.
Blend till smooth. Transfer mixture to a serving dish or bowl.
Drizzle olive oil over the garbanzo bean mixture and sprinkle with paprika.
