Alogbati with Ground Beef

I can't remember the last time I had "fresh picked" alogbati for lunch till we visited my Mom last weekend. She grows her own alogbati, tomatoes, pandan, chili peppers and many more in little planters so I made sure I took some home. It can't get any fresher than this. Sweet!

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced thin
  • 1/2 lb sitaw, cut into 2 inches
  • 1/2 lb kalabasa, cut into bite size
  • 2 cups cleaned alogbati
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 2 cups water

Cooking Direction:
  1. Saute garlic and onion till caramelized.
  2. Add ground beef till ground beef turns golden brown.
  3. Add sitaw for a couple of minutes.
  4. Add kalabasa then add water and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Add alogbati leaves.
  7. Simmer for another minute.
  8. Remove from heat and serve hot.
