Ginataang Puso ng Saging

Ginataang Puso ng Saging or Banana Blossoms/Heart cooked in coconut milk is a simple and delicious Filipino dish, best served with fried fish. Ginataang Puso ng Saging is a great and flavorful variation of Filipino Ginataan dishes and takes less than 30 minutes to make.

This Ginataang Puso ng Saging is really easy to make and only few ingredients needed. Pork is usually part of the ingredients, but I used shrimps and it turned out really good! One of my favorite vegetable dish and can be easily cooked at home.

Banana blossom or puso ng saging are the buds that becomes the fruit of the banana plant. The banana blossom (soft part) is shredded and soaked in rock salt for about 10 minutes. The shredded banana blossom is then squeezed using the hand to release the bitter sap then rinsed well with cold water and drained before cooking.
