I have been seeing friends and family from Philippines and here in the US posting pictures and talking highly about Magnum Ice Cream Bars so I drove to Walmart and there it is.I bought a box of Mini Almond and it is truly mouth watering and super delicious! What surprised me the most is it's only 160 calories per mini bar. I am getting me the white chocolate next trip to the store.

Pork Adobo


Easy Cooking Direction:
Using a wok or a deep pan mix 2 lbs pork cut into bite size, 6 pieces minced garlic cloves, 8 pieces whole pepper corn, 4 pieces bay leaves, 1 cup datu puti vinegar, 1 cup water, 1/2 cup soy sauce and 1-2 tablespoon sugar.
Bring to boil for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer till pork is fully soft. Add more water if needed.
Once pork is fully soft and sauce thickens remove from heat and serve over steam rice.
ENJOY!

Giniling na Karne at Pechay

An ordinary dish needing simple ingredient yet very satisfying and taste really good.
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
2 lbs petchay (bokchoy) sliced 1/2 inches
1/2 teaspoon minced ginger
4-5 pieces garlic, minced
1 small onion, sliced thin
salt and ground pepper to taste
1 cup water
1 tablespoon cooking oil
Cooking Direction:
Using a deep pan saute ginger, garlic and onion till caramelized.
Add ground beef and saute in medium low heat till ground beef turns golden brown.
Add water, season with ground pepper and salt. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add slices of bokchoy. Simmer for few minutes.
Remove from heat, serve and ENJOY!

Catfish Curry Coconut Milk

A simple easy dish to make yet full of flavors
Ingredients:
3 lbs cat fish, steak cut
1 can coconut milk
1 piece thumb size ginger, minced
4-5 pieces garlic cloves, minced
1 small size onion, slice thin
1 stem lemon grass, cut into 3 inches
1 cup water
1 tablespoon curry powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric (kalawag)
salt to taste
2 tablespoon cooking oil
1/4 teaspoon Chile powder (optional)
Cooking Direction:
Saute minced ginger, lemon grass and garlic in cooking oil.
Add onion, curry powder and turmeric and saute for a minute.
Add 1 cup of water and salt. Simmer for few minutes in low heat.
Add chile powder if desired.
Add fish to the mixture and coconut milk. Cover and simmer for 4-5 minutes in low heat.
Remove from heat, serve over steam rice and enjoy!

Sinigang na Baka

Sour Soup Beef and Veggies
Ingredients:
3-4 lbs beef with bones
1 medium size green papaya, clean and cut
1 lb baby bokchoy (petchay)
1 stem lemon grass, cut into 4 pieces
1 medium size onion, quartered
2 pieces tomato,
quartered
1 pack knorr tamarind sinigang mix
salt and ground pepper to taste
Cooking Direction:
Boil beef for 20 minutes using a pressure cooker.
Transfer boiled beef in a big pot, add slices of onion, lemon grass and tomatoes. Add more water and continue boiling till beef is fully tender.
Add slices of green papaya and simmer for few minutes or till cooked half way.
Season with sinigang mix, ground pepper and salt (if desired). Simmer for few minutes.
Add baby bokchoy, simmer for few minutes more. Remove pot from heat and serve.

Pinaksiw na Tamudyos

sa Iba reminds me of back home, Iloilo City and my Dad. My Dad loves cooking pinaksiw using any fish topped with Iba in Ilonggo or Kamias in Tagalog freshly picked from his garden.
Ingredients:
3 lbs frozen Tamudyos (galunggong), defrost and clean
1 pack frozen kamias (iba)
4-5 pieces garlic cloves, slice thin
1 small onion, slice thin
1 thumb size ginger, slice thin
2 stem green onion, cut into 3 inches
1 cup datu puti vinegar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoon cooking oil
salt and ground pepper to taste
Cooking Direction:
Using a deep pan arrange slices of ginger. Top with fish, vinegar, water, garlic, salt and ground pepper and bring to boil for 5 minutes uncovered.
Reduce heat to medium low. Add kamias, slices of onion and cooking oil. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add slices of green onion.
Remove from heat and serve. Enjoy with a cup full of rice.
