Filipino Style Picadillo


Filipino style Picadillo is a classic Pinoy comfort food. It is so easy to make using simple ingredients and so delicious! There are many versions of picadillo out there and this one is so simple! Use ground beef, pork and chicken with this simple recipe.


This Filipino Style Picadillo is one of the easiest and simple recipe you can make to serve your family and friends. This Picadillo recipe is made with ground pork and raisins added for extra flavor. This simple dish is one of the most requested by my family. They love it served over steamed rice.

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil or any
  • 1 small carrot, diced small
  • 1 small carrot, diced small
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 lb. ground beef or pork  chicken 
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. raisins
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup sweet peas
  • chopped green onions for garnishing



Instructions
  1. In a pan, heat and add 2 tbsp. olive oil. Add carrots and potatoes. Fry for few minutes until light brown. Remove and set aside.
  2. Using the same pan, add a tbsp. of olive oil. Sauté garlic and onion until aromatic.
  3. Add ground meat and stir to combine. Cook until light brown and season with ground pepper. Continue cooking until meat is fully cooked.
  4. Add soy sauce and stir. Add raisins and stir to combine. Cook for a minute.
  5. Return fried carrots and potatoes to the pan. Stir and cook for a minute.
  6. Pour-in tomato sauce and chicken broth. Season with salt to taste.
  7. Add snow peas and stir. Cook for few minutes. Add chopped onion and stir gently.
  8. Turn off heat and transfer in a serving dish. Serve hot with steamed rice. Enjoy!
