Tinolang Giniling na Karne

Tired of Tinolang Chicken? Try this and you will like it. 

1 lb ground beef
1 lb sayote, cut into bite size
1 small red bell pepper, julienne
1 stem lemon grass, cut into 4
1 cup pepper leaves or malunggay
1 thumb size ginger, sliced thin
3-4 garlic cloves, minced
1 small onion, cut into 4
1 tablespoon cooking oil
salt and ground pepper to taste
3-4 cups of water

Cooking Direction:
Saute ginger, garlic and onions in oil till caramelized.
Add ground beef, saute till golden brown in medium low heat
Add lemon grass and water and bring to boil in medium low heat for 10 minutes.
Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
Add sayote, bell peppers and pepper leaves.
Simmer for few more minutes till vegetables are fully cooked.
Remove from heat and serve hot.

Pork and Mushroom in Black Beans Sauce

Try this simple yet very tasty recipe

2 lbs  pork belly, sliced 1/2 inch
1 lb mushroom, sliced thin
1 thumb size ginger, sliced thin
5-6 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoon black beans  sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1/2 - 1 tablespoon sugar to taste
ground black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon cooking oil
water for boiling the meat

Cooking Direction: 
Saute ginger and garlic in cooking oil till caramelized.
Add pork and saute till pork turns golden brown.
Season with ground black pepper, hoisin sauce and black beans sauce. 
Add 2-3 cups of water or more if needed. Simmer in medium low heat till pork is fully cooked. 
Season with sugar and more ground black pepper to taste. 
Add mushroom and simmer in low heat till mushroom is fully cooked. 
Remove from heat and serve over steam rice. 

Butterfly Fried Shrimp Recipe

Everyone's favorite

2 lbs large shrimp, peeled
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 cup water
1 cup bread crumbs
1 teaspoon minced garlic
salt and brown ground pepper to taste
1 cup cooking oil

Cooking Direction:
Peel, divine and butterfly shrimp. Leave the tail on and set aside.
Using a bowl mix flour, cornstarch, salt and ground pepper to taste.
Mix the minced garlic and the beaten eggs.

Dip each shrimp on the flour mixture then the egg mixture then bread crumb mixture. Set aside.

Using a deep pan heat cooking oil in medium low heat. 
Pan fry the battered shrimp one by one till golden brown. 
Drain cooked shrimp on paper towel. 

Serve with sweet and sour chili sauce. 

Shrimp Torta

Check out this simple yet very tasty recipe. Don't forget to serve it with your favorite dipping sauce.

1 lb medium size shrimp, peeled
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
salt to taste
1/4 cup cooking oil

Cooking Direction:
Beat eggs and season with salt to taste.
Add cornstarch and blend well.
Add the shrimp to the egg mixture and mix well. Set aside.
Heat frying pan in medium high heat for few minutes.
Add cooking oil and reduce heat to low.
Scoop some shrimp/egg mixture and pour over the pan to fry.
Fry on both side for few minutes.
Remove cooked shrimp torta and pat with paper towel to remove excess cooking oil.
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Banana ketchup or spiced vinegar will do.

Sinigang na Bangus Recipe

Stewed Milk Fish in Tamarind 

1 large boneless bangus, cut into 6-8 pieces
1 large tomato, cut into 4
1 medium size onion, cut into 4
1 small red bell pepper, cut into strips
1/4 lb long beans, cut into 3 inches
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 table spoon sinigang mix or more if desired
3 cups water

Cooking Direction:
Boil water in a deep pot. Once water starts boiling add the onion, tomatoes, bell pepper and beans. Bring to a quick boil. Season with tamarind powder, ground black pepper and salt if needed.
Add the slices of bangus into the broth, Simmer till the fish and veggies are fully cooked in medium low heat.
Remove the pot from the heat and serve hot.

Breaded Pork Belly Recipe

Easy to follow and simple recipe

2 lbs pork belly, sliced an inch
2 egg, beaten
salt, garlic powder and ground black pepper to taste
1 cup flour
1/2  cup cooking oil
1/4 cup banana ketchup and 1/4 cup chili sauce, combined for dipping

Cooking Direction:
Beat eggs in a deep bowl. Add salt, ground black pepper and garlic powder to taste.
Marinate slices of pork belly in the egg mixture for at least 10 minutes.
Place the flour in a plate. Dip each slice of pork belly in the flour and set aside.

Heat cooking oil in a deep pan.
Fry pieces of pork in medium low heat till golden brown.
Remove from heat and serve with banana ketchup mixed with chili sauce.
Serve hot and enjoy!

Bistek Recipe

Also known as Filipino Beef Steak or Karne Prita in Ilonggo

2 lbs. lean beef, sliced thin
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup kalamansi juice or lemon juice
1 tablespoon garlic, crushed
2 tablespoon sugar
salt and ground pepper to taste
1 medium onion, slice thin
1 medium size potato, slice thin
1/3 cup canola oil

Cooking Direction:Mix water, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, sugar, salt and pepper. Taste test for desired salt sour sweetness taste.
Add beef to the mixture. Marinade for 20-30 minutes in the fridge. 
Remove beef from the marinade and drain remaining juice. Make sure to set aside the remaining marinade.

Heat pan and add cooking oil. Fry potatoes and onions till golden brown and set aside.

Using the same cooking oil fry beef till golden brown, remove from the pan and set aside. 
Using the same pan pour remaining marinade and simmer for few minutes. Once the sauce starts to thicken add the browned beef to the pan and continue to simmer for few more minutes. 
Top with fried potatoes and onions. Remove from heat and serve.
