Pinakbet Tagalog

Here is how to cook a delicious Pinakbet also known as Pakbet. Pinakbet is a Filipino vegetable stew made from mixed vegetables cooked with pork belly, shrimp and shrimp paste. There are two variations of Pinakbet. The Pinakbet Tagalog and Pinakbet Ilocano.

Pinakbet Tagalog and Pinakbet Ilocano uses pretty much the same ingredients, the only difference is the type of bagoong used. The Pinakbet Tagalog uses shrimp paste or bagoong alamang and the Pinakbet Ilocano uses bagoong na isda. They are both delicious but my favorite is this Pinakbet Tagalog specially when vegetables are cooked perfectly.

Pinakbet is one of the Filipinos popular and favorite comfort food. Not only it is easy to make but it is so delicious and packed with flavors. This simple vegetable dish is best when eaten fresh over steamed white rice.
