Pancit Palabok

Pancit Palabok is a popular and a favorite Filipino noodle dish. Palabok is often served at parties and easy to make. This simple noodle dish is loaded with shrimp sauce and different toppings like shrimps, ground pork and chicharon.

I was asked what is the difference between Pancit Palabok and Malabon so I am sharing what I remember reading before.

Fried Chicken is one of my kids favorite. This Crispy Fried Chicken recipe is not only good but also easy to make and full of flavor. I always love Pink Salmon. Not only easy to make but also healthy but NOT this recipe. This one is baked with mayonnaise. But now I know what to do next time, just coat the other half of the fish with mayo mixture and leave the other half with just salt and pepper.

Stir Fried Green Beans with Pork

Stir Fried Green Beans is an easy recipe and can be healthy if you replace the pork with chicken breast. You can also use long beans (sitaw) instead of green beans. It just happened we got a lot of green beans from the market so I made up this recipe. It turned out pretty good specially if you like crunchy green vegetables.

Ginisang Monggo with Ampalaya and Chicharon is my favorite Monggo recipe. Simple recipe yet flavorful. The Monggo is sautéed in garlic and onions then topped with ampalaya, chicharon plus some dahon sili. So good, I can finish 2 cups of this in one seating over steam rice.

Lechon Pork Belly in Turbo

Lechon Kawali or Roast Pork is a popular Filipino pork dish. Made with pork belly simmered in  seasoning and deep fried until crisp. There are several options in cooking Lechon like Deep Fried Lechon Kawali or Oven Lechon or using a turbo broiler. With this recipe I used my dependable turbo broiler and it sure worked like magic. This dish has the same crisp and flavor as Lechon Kawali deep fried, but less greasy.

Grilled Pork Belly

This Easy Grilled Pork Recipe is made with thin slices of pork belly and marinated using 3 simple ingredients. I used a cast iron skillet as I only cooked a pound of meat and don't really want to start the grill. It worked just fine and turned out really good.
You can grill, pan sear or fry and serve hot with spicy vinegar and kalamansi for dipping.

Paksiw na Bangus is a comfort food to most Filipino. This dish is made with Bangus (Milk Fish) simmered in vinegar, garlic, onions, ginger and with desired vegetables like eggplant, bitter melon, etc. Easy to cook, very satisfying and you will definitely need lots of rice.

Empanada is a Spanish word meaning meat pie. It is a pastry filled with meat and vegetables and baked. Some do deep fry but I always liked it baked.

Crispy Pork Binagoongan sa Gata is one of Filipinos favorite pork recipe. This recipe is easy to make using pork shoulder, shrimp paste, coconut milk and chili peppers. The difference of this recipe to others is the pork is boiled and fried until crispy before adding to the coconut mixture.
